Bright Bursts

Bright bursts; yellow and orange
penetrate my eyelids
Arouse me from oblivion.
Flashes of a sudden conflagration.

I lie.
I lie transfixed.
A blanket of flames
wraps around the body;
a furious race to devour all

The giddy blaze is all the world now.
I can only sit and admire,
the unbridled joy
on her face; in forever flux

Weaving an indiscriminate burning hook
The ego is devoured, heart smothered
I`m twisting, twisted, withering plastic
 gasping heat, cradling cold
My mini annihilation is complete.
